I'm so glad I found this site! I'm 9 weeks into 2nd pregnancy. I'm feel like I'm dying...can't stand this nausea/throwing up anymore!! I cry a lot because I can't believe I got pregnant again knowing how terrible morning sickness is. I feel guilty and have had terrible thoughts. I'm relieved I'm not the only one feeling like this. I just keep telling myself once I'm through this, I will be fine. On the bright side...it makes labor not seem as bad when you get to that point! Id rather be in pain than feel like this for months.

Wow what a godsend this website is! I'm 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my 3rd child. I have had a few comments from other people to suggest my sickness might be in my head, I know its not as its happened like this twice before. It seems so much worse this time tho. Since about week 4 Ive had constant nausea, and I started being sick in week 5. Ive had 3 days where I haven't been sick at all sometimes I throw up as often as 7 times in 1 day, is this excessive? I look forward to when it stops.. hope thats soon! Congrats to everyone hope youre feeling better soon xxx

I am 15 weeks pregnant today and feel awful as ever. Since being a toddler, I have suffered from nausea and vomiting – motion sickness, hypersensitivity to the pill, vertigo. I have to use suppositories for a short flight for my motion sickness – 20 minutes into the flight and I am using the sick bag. 4 days ago, I took a flight (40 minute flight) to visit my parents and did not use the suppositories after years as I feared it may harm the baby – there are no words to describe how bad the trip was. I am a psychologist by training, and realised that there is not enough material out there on coping. I have tried all the remedied suggested – ginger, crackers, etc. etc. When you have this degree of nausea, nothing works. After reading the many posts about Zofran used in the States, I asked my doctor and it appears that it is not available in SA?! So alas, I suffer. All night nausea and vomiting, all morning, all afternoon. The media portrays pregnancy as so joyous – my first pregnancy and I feel little joy.

I am now 6 weeks along with my 4th pregnancy (3rd child). I have been extremely sick with each one. Once I did not leave a bed for 10 weeks straight. Once I had to have a nurse on call with IV. The last one I was on Zofran which stopped the vomitting cycle. In all, they have all been so hard that it is difficult to feel the joy of a child.I can relate to those of you who have had terrible thoughts to just end the pain. - And the guilt for even thinking those thoughts! (And yes, you forget how bad it was when you are so in love with your child and you are ready to have another!!) THIS time around, I have followed the suggestions on this website: http://forums.helpher.org/vi ewtopic.php?t=27330

I am hoping it will make a difference. I had tried ALL the basic suggestions from professionals before with no luck. This is more proactive. Ask me in a few weeks how I feel. Hopefully it will help some of you!

I am 13 weeks today!! I have been so sick since week 7. I feel sick 24/7 and vomit several times a day!! I have lost 15 pounds since I became pregnant. I just want this to be over. I can't get excited about the baby because I am just so sick. I can't go out because I'm afraid I'm going to barf at the store. It sucks so much I just want to cry. I doc says it means everything is good and that I'm healthy. I hate that!! People keep telling me the worst will be over soon. I don't see an end in sight. I wanted to have 3 kids but now I can't imagine doing this again!! Not that I'm glad you're all sick, but it's nice to know I'm not alone. I pray everyday to take away this awful feeling!!!
Good luck to everyone!!

Hi every one omg I'm sooooo happy that I am not the only one going thru this sickness! I've been sooooo sick since I turned 5 weeks ! I'm now 9 weeks pregnant ! I've tried everything .. From Ginger , eating small meals , having prescribed pills for nausea from my doctor absolutly everything ! I don't vomit as much anymore but the nausea is 24/7 and all I do is lie down in bed and try to sleep it off ! Somehow sleeping is the best cos u feel absolute numbness lol ! I just hate waking up and there it is again ! My fiancé has been great! From cleaning , cooking , groceries and looking after me I feel bad that I can't do much but happy he's been so supportive ! Anyway I wAnt u all to know .. Ur al not alone and I feel down and sick too and sumtimes I have bad thoughts bout either wanting to abort or even hoping for a miscarriage (and I feel bad I think about that) but I don't mean it . I guess when ur sick .. U just want the easy way out .. We just gta try and think positive.. They say "pain is beauty" .. In this case "pain gives us sumfin soooo beautiful and worthwhile".. Take care and drink gatorade or water ! It's important to be hydrated even tho u can't eat! Liquids is the best thing you can give ur baby! Also make sure u drink the right vitamins u may be lacking or need :)
good luck and hope we all continue to share our journey to motherhood together

I'm almost 9 weeks into my second pregnancy and feeling worse by the day it seems! On top of the terrible nausea and exhaustion, I'm feeling very guilty about not keeping up with household chores and being unproductive at work. Preparing food is also so nauseating. My 2 year old has been watching a lot of TV because I feel so awful and tired (more guilt). I am also painfully hungry, but revolted by food. I can't drink water but I have found grapefruit juice to help a little. With my first pregnancy I started to feel better at 11 weeks. It really dampens your spirits to feel so awful day after day with no relief. Thanks everyone for sharing your stories - it is comforting to know you're not alone.

I am 8 weeks now and I CANNOT take this horrible nausea anymore. I am not sure if anyone experiences EXTREME hunger yet are grossed out to eat? I think my husband thinks I am crazy and since this is my first child I am wondering if I am?! On top of the nausea anything I eat gives me diarrhea. All I can do is cry now, if anyone has any tips PLEASE pass them on I need all the help I can get! Good luck to everyone and we just have to keep thinking that this shall soon pass...

Hi, it's so nice to know you're not alone, isn't it? I'm 7 wks 3 days & have felt sick since I took the pg test on day 31 of my cycle! This is my fifth pregnancy (last one ended in a miscarriage though). I've felt sick (all day nausea) with all of them for at least the first trimester. My last baby I was sick til maybe week 20. This is the first time it started so early though! I'm on zofran (I think it helps--I'm afraid to stop!) I rest whenever I can so that when I have to do something (carpool, appts.), I can gear myself up for it. My biggest problem is that water makes me throw up if I don't have food in my stomach. In general, I just can't drink a lot because it makes me feel gross but I'm also so thirsty. I'm really concerned about dehydration. My husband bought me some Gatorade today & I've managed to drink a glass of that. It's going to be a long summer!

I'm at 6 weeks in my first pregnancy and I feel horrible alllll day and allll night, can't sleep, clean my house, or barely drive. Cheez-It's help a little, and if I drink a Kombucha it makes me feel sooo much better for about 10 hours, then I start to get drowsy and shakey again. It's hard to drink them alot though because I haven't drank soda in 2 years so I dont like bubbly drinks. It feels really good to eat Cantalope. Hope this info will help you all, I'm not sure if Kombuchas are technically good for pregnancy but it doesn't have any warnings on the bottle so I'm sure it wont hurt. They have been the most help so far and are amazing drinks! These kids better love us!! I had no idea pregnant women go through all this!

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my third child. So far everything I'm experiencing I endured with my previous two daughters. I wonder if I'm having another girl. Sometimes I wonder how I can put myself through this again. I think nature has a way of making you forget about it all.

Currently, I'm extremely tired, have terrible indigestion and 24/7 nausea. I can't cook, clean, and having a difficult time taking care of my girls (ages 5 and 2). I feel worthless. Based on my experience, I have at least another month of what I call long-term flu. That seems like an eternity. Every time I'm pregnant, I reach out to forums like this to make sure I'm sane. Apparently, I am. For the vast majority of you, this horrible sickness will go away after you first trimester. Hang it there...

I'm 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I feel RUBBISH! today I have been in bed all day, felt sicky, head achey and wiped out. The smell of my dog is making me feel sick and worse than that the smell of my partner is making me feel sick..mainly because he smokes and the smell of cigarettes makes me feel so ill but also his deodorant, basically anything with a strong smell..peanut butter, coffee yuck. We were on holiday last week in Greece enjoying lots of Greek food (before I knew I was pregnant) and now just thinking about that food..and writing about it makes me feel sick

I have to go back to full time work on tuesday and I'm really worried about being able to physically work. I wanted to keep my pregnancy quiet for as long as possible but I'm thinking I might have to tell my boss so she sympathises with me at least. Can anyone tell me if they decided to tell their boss or not?

Hello Mothers-2-Be. I am currently 8 weeks and 5 days and this is my 3rd pregnancy. I have an almost 3 year old and a 4 year old and I am a work-at-home mother while going to school at the same time. Having morning sickness is the hardest part for me because FOOD is my best friend, yet my biggest enemy! The boys love scrambled eggs in the morning, and that had to stop and move over to cereal because I couldnt even look at eggs without getting the urge. The smell of coffee is death to me. Always following what you crave is best because what you like today, you most likely will NOT tomorrow. Of course pregnancy gets better, and it may seem like this feeling will never end when you constantly feel like you are going to throw up, but for most, it does pass and food will be magical. What works for one woman, does not necessarily work for another.. but a nice hot glass of tea and toast can work for the moment. Something sour like a lemon makes the glands in the mouth start working and suppresses the nausea for a little bit. So stay strong because this is only the beginning!! You will love food once again!

Hi everyone! I am a first time mum, 10 weeks into my pregnancy and the last 3 weeks have been terrible. Working full time and finishing a thesis, everything was great until the last 3 weeks when the morning sickness began. I smell EVERYTHING and even the thought of smelling anything bad is enough to make me throw up. I am not enjoying this stage of the pregnancy and I feel depressed at times because I am not achieving as much as I normally would. Luckily my husband is so understanding and patient with me, so it makes it all bearable. Everyone is telling me to 'enjoy' my pregnancy but at this stage, there is nothing to enjoy. Is this feeling normal? Am I a horrible mother for thinking this?

I am 8 weeks pregnant, happily married and teaching. I have had such a hard time morning, day, and night. I feel this constant feeling of nausea. All food seems repulsive. I have tried all of the things people have said- crackers, ginger ale- but now they disgust me. I have found that I can be happy with fruit. It's funny- foods that sounded good to me yesterday sound terrible today. I just don't know what to do. In the morning I can barely eat my breakfast... but if I don't I feel like I can't teach. I'm starving for food but it's hard to eat it. I can barely roll out of bed. I feel disgusting. The only ray of hope is that summer break will be here soon. Is there anything that can make food seem more desirable?

Thanks,

Ali

Hello, OMG I am in my 6th week, started with just a nausea feeling about 1 week ago. I now have nausea off and on all day, I dry heave off and on all day but don't really throw up so annoying, I've got crazy heartburn. I wonder if this is going to get worse? I'm not really all that tired though just bothered by this constant feeling of wanting to throw up but I don't. I wasn't even sure this was considered MS since there is no vomiting (although I'd wish I did just to get some relief).

Hello Ladies! I am currently 8 weeks 4 days pregnant and have been actively reading this site since my morning sickness started around 5 weeks, which has been absolutely awful! Today I had my first appointment with an intake nurse and she suggested some things that I wanted to share with you all. She said to help me combat the nausea at night to take a unisom sleep tablet and a b6 vitamin to help keep the nausea at bay. Also, Vitaminwater has lots of B vitamins, today I picked up "Revive" It's the fruit punch and on the label it says " B vitamins and potassium", the nurse said a lot of women find relief from that. Next, she said sucking on lemons or lemon drops can help. The sour taste can help the acid in your stomach. And last ladies, my favorite part of the visit, she said that our hormones peak at 8-9 weeks and that over the next few weeks our nausea will start to get better as our hormones get more in check. I wish you all luck and we all will get through this hard time!

i can empathize with u all. i'm 8 weeks in to my 2nd pregnany, and i feel awful. Constant nausea for the last 2 weeks, i've had to cut my hours at work, cause i've been so ill. my 1st pregnancy with my daughter was an utter nightmare, trips to the supermarket would end in tears, as i knew everything i ate would come back up. i was sick all day everyday for 9 months, hospitalised 3 times because i couldnt keep fluids down and lost a lot of weight. i'm hoping when i get to 12 weeks things get better but i just don't know. i've tried everything, but nothing works apart from crackers, purely because they have no taste or smell. The only thing thats getting me through is knowing that in December my little bundle of joy will be here. i don't intend to get pregnant again either!! good luck everyone. hope all goes well for the future

I am 20 weeks. I have been sick since I Found out at 6 weeks. 24/7 sickiness. I agree it is very hard to be excited when you feel like your dying. I was admitted into the hospital once and at that time they gave me Zofran and Phenergan. I take the Zofran during the day and Phenergan at night. I tried slacking off of it because it worries me but then you feel yucky again. People would say it will be over at 12 weeks. Ok I waited, the oh it will be over at 17 weeks. no such luck 20 weeks and mostly I get ill in the evenings now. I just flop on the couch and wait till bed time to take my Phenergan. I try to avoid the medicine but somedays you just can't.

Wow I am so glad that everyone has shared their stories. I am 10 1/2 weeks pregnant and I was searching ways to help resovle this morning sickness but i stumbled across this website. I feel like a total bum. At first I had a week off and i felt so horrible i didnt comb my hair or wear makeup or even get dressed besides throwing on some sweats for the whole week! This is my fifth and final year of college and is by far the hardest but not because of the classes but because of how i feel! I usually study for the remainder of the day and now all i do is sleep and after i sleep all day im still tired and dont want to get up and im hungry every 10 minutes. I havent thrown up thankfully but i feel nauseated all day long and have had some close calls if i wasnt able to lay down right away. Plus my husband thinks im exaggerating and im just lazy and im faking since im not that far along but its true!!! I feel like crap and my mother said she felt sick her entire pregnancy so what if this stays with me until December!!! I dont know what I would do!!!Good luck everyone

I will be 12 weeks tomorrow. I have been suffering with all day "morning" sickness and 24/7 nausea since about week 6. I had a few good days last week so I thought it might be ending, but then it hit me again yesterday. This is my first pregnancy, and I never knew I'd feel this terrible. I've tried everything: ginger, psi bands, crackers, etc. but nothing seems to help. I have constant nausea. Some days I don't throw up at all; other days I throw up twice. I'm working full time, and it's killing me to sit at my desk all day. I just want to be at home lying on the couch. My husband is very supportive. He takes care of the household chores and tells me I'm beautiful even though I know that I look terrible. Maybe this terrible nausea and sickness will end really soon!! I'm hoping all of you ladies will start to feel better soon too! God bless.

I am about 12 weeks and still feel like i am going to die... I throw up all day everyday. I can not eat a thing nor drink anything without vomiting. It is the worse thing ever! My Dr has prescribe me Reglan and vistrol that doesnt do anything but get me even more tired and sick. I find myself with a cup next to me so I can throw up. I swear never to get pregnent again. Crackers, medication fluids they do not work. Im so tired of this I just want to cry!
